The Noble Council of Akanittha Brahma Realm was remembered with faith.
I reflected on the Anusaya (underlying tendency) diagram given during Nibbāna meditation on 12/04/2024.
It is shown there, an arrow from the physical nutriment (kabaḷīkārāhāra) to the mental volition (manosañcetanāhāro); upon removing property, there is ‘transcending of perception of form’ (vokāra). Below it is shown with an arrow from Area 2; underlying tendency to ignorance (avijjānusaya) to underlying tendency to greed for sensual desire (kāmarāgānusaya), forms (rūpa), subtle forms, the large rock as the fifth jhana to the eighth jhana, the underlying tendency (anusaya) that forms towards the existences that have been maintained and the existences that can be maintained, and the desire for it after moving away from a state where the mind has stopped.
Then there is an arrow at the bottom, from the underlying tendency to greed for sensual desire (kāmarāga anusaya) to the underlying tendency to ignorance (avijjā anusaya). If one does not engage in verbal misconduct, there will be no slanderous speech. This means there is no progression to 4.4. Furthermore, at 3.2, there is no steadying point for consciousness passing on (viññāṇaṭṭhiti). Why is so? Lying (musāvāda) affects it. If that dhamma is removed, there will be no steadying point for consciousness passing on (viññāṇaṭṭhiti) at 3.2. Budupiya said that if there is no lying, there will be no steadying point for consciousness passing on (viññāṇaṭṭhiti) at 3.2.
If thinking this way, it is understood that it should be stopped through right thought (sammā saṅkappa) before reaching 3.2. Why is so? Because once a wheel is pushed and starts spinning, it's difficult to predict exactly where it will stop. Kamma influences this. Here, the bell-shaped curve marked with A, B, C was remembered.
If stopping through right thought (sammā saṅkappa), it is worth stopping before reaching point B. Why is so? Because the karmic (kamma) value becomes excessive after point B. If something was previously approved as good and is still being called good, its karmic value is high. Therefore, stopping at point A itself must be a strong stoppage, exactly as mentioned in the third point given in the 06/12/2024 Nibbāna meditation. For this, it is beneficial to examine through focused awareness (cetaso abhiniropanā) as discussed in the 13/12/2024 Nibbāna meditation. That is, with mindfulness, the understanding of the Four Noble Truths should be deep enough to the extent that the first column of the dukkha table should not occur.
That is the meditation I did.
